Fiji Born winger, Eto Nabuli scored two tries for the Reds to help his side finish the season with back‑to‑back wins for the first time since round 5 as they overcame the Sunwolves 48‑27 in Brisbane.
It is the second successive week the Sunwolves have had to play the majority of the match with 14 men as this time Ed Quirk was given an early bath for his alleged punch of Hamish Stewart on the ground.
Both the Reds and the Sunwolves have failed to reach the quarterfinals.
Meanwhile, Hurricanes coach Chris Boyd slammed Chiefs centre Johnny Faauli’s no‑arms hit on Wes Goosen in their Super Rugby clash in Hamilton on Friday.
Boyd was fuming after the match, which the Chiefs won 28‑24, as Faauli’s challenge to Goosen’s head could result in the Hurricanes utility back missing next weekend’s quarter‑final between the teams in Wellington.
Chiefs boss Colin Cooper also expressed his disappointment with the incident.
In tonight’s matches, the Highlanders will meet the Rebels at 7.35pm, the Crusaders take on the Blues at 7.35pm and Waratahs will face the Brumbies at 9.45pm, while tomorrow the Lions will play the Bulls at 1.05pm, and the Sharks will take on the Jaguares at 3.15am.
