The 39th Fiji Bitter Marist 7s which is also known as the “Road to Rio” is expected to bring a lot of excitement for new teams and old clubs such as the Nabua 7s team.

Head coach Misaele Tabua said two players who are expected to make their mark are the Rauluni brothers Maciu and Peni, the sons of the late former national sevens rep, Vesi Rauluni.

Last year defending champion Wardens Gold beat Nabua in the main elimination.

Tabua said the boys have been reminded about the history of the Nabua club.

Some players who played for Nabua were Waisale Serevi, the late Vesi Rauluni, Tomasi Cama Senior, former national sevens coach Alifereti Dere, lanky forward Mesake Rasari, Pauliasi Tabulutu and rising Super Rugby star Taqele Naiyaravoro.

Nabua is pooled with Samoa based Vailima Marist, Flying Fish Rugby and UBB Natabua from Lautoka.

The Fiji Bitter Marist 7s will be held on Friday and Saturday at the ANZ Stadium.
