All Blacks loosehead prop Joe Moody might, at last, be poised to get some action for the Crusaders.
This news will be well received by Crusaders coach Scott Robertson ahead of the next match against the Waratahs in Christchurch on Saturday night, because he already has a couple of looseheads in Tim Perry and Harry Allan in the recovery ward following mishaps in the last two rounds.
The All Blacks selectors will also be fired‑up at the prospect of 29-year-old Moody, finally getting a run with the three‑test series against France in June looming.
Moody, who has played 31 tests, since he took the field against Argentina in New Plymouth on September 9, he badly injured his right shoulder in that match, requiring a reconstruction that forced him to commit to a lengthy rehabilitation programme.
At the end of round 12, defending champions, Crusaders lead the points table with 38 points, the Hurricanes are second with 36 points, Lions are third with 31 points while the Highlanders are fourth with 28 points and the Waratahs are fifth 25 points.
In Super Rugby matches this week the Blues face the Hurricanes at 7.35pm Friday.
On Saturday,Crusaders will take on the Waratahs at 5.15pm Highlanders take on the Lions at 7.35pm and the Brumbies meet the Rebels at 9.45pm.
On Sunday, the Stormers face the Chiefs at 1.05am while the Bulls play the Sharks at 3.15am.
