Melbourne Storm halfback Cooper Cronk has declared that NRL grand final opponent Michael Morgan has surpassed him on current form.
While Cronk is assured of wearing the Australian No.7 jumper at the upcoming World Cup, there is an argument to be made that Morgan has established himself as the form player of the finals series.
Cronk says Morgan is probably ahead of him at the moment.
Since co‑captain Johnathan Thurston's season‑ending shoulder injury, Morgan has stepped into the Cowboys playmaking role.
The Cowboys will meet Melbourne Storm at 8.15pm Sunday in the NRL Grand final.
