Fiji born boxer and former heavyweight title challenger Kali Meehan won his fight against American Jeremy Bates in another of his buildups for a possible shot at the WBA title.
Meehan punished journeyman Bates until the referee came in and stopped the fight into one minute and sixteen seconds of the third round.
The Ovalau native is ranked 4th in the WBA, 11th in the WBC and 6th in the WBO.
