Sunwolves wing Semisi Masirewa has pleaded guilty following his red card during his side’s 32‑26 loss to the Reds at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane last weekend.
Masirewa received two yellow cards for cynical play at the breakdown and a high tackle on Red’s Jock Campbell.
His second yellow was followed by a red card from referee Angus Gardner, as per competition rules.
Masirewa has been suspended from all forms of the game for 1 week.
The Sunwolves are on a bye this week while in this week’s Super Rugby Competition, the Blues meet the Hurricanes at 7.35pm Friday at Eden Park while the Rebels meet the Reds in Melbourne at 9.45pm Friday.
The Crusaders meet the Bulls 5.10am Saturday in Pretoria while the Highlanders play the Jaguares at 5.15pm Saturday in Dunedin.
The Chiefs meet the Sharks in Waikato at 7.35pm Saturday while the Lions face the Waratahs at 1.05am Sunday.
