Marist Brothers High School defended their boy’s title at the Suva Zone two athletics meet in style.
Marist finished with 27 gold, 20 silver and 13 bronze while Suva Grammar School came in second with 12 gold, 15 silver and 10 bronze and Gospel was third with 4 gold, 3 silver and 5 bronze.
Saint Joseph secondary dethroned Suva Grammar school to win the girls title with 13 gold, 4 silver and 5 bronze.
Suva Grammar grabbed 9 gold, 10 silver and 10 bronze to settle for second place while Gospel High School came in third with 7 gold, 5 silver and 3 bronze.
A total of 23 records fell at today's meet.
Sisilia Seavula of Saint Joseph Secondary was awarded the best female athlete for winning the senior girls 100 and 200 metres while Simione Savu of Marist was the best male athlete after winning gold in the senior boys 4x100, 4x400 metres relay and he also set a new long jump record with a new distance of 7.01 metres.
The old record was 6.88metres which was set in 1999.
Meanwhile, the Suva Zone One will be held at the ANZ Stadium tomorrow.
