2014 Fiji Sportsman of the Year, Meli Malani will be aiming to win gold in the 50 metre breast stroke race tonight at the Oceania Swimming Championships.
Malani who came last in his previous race, says that he is aiming to redeem himself in his next race by winning gold and hopefully qualify to Rio.
Meanwhile Malani broke his own record today in the Mens Open 50 metres butterfly with a new time of 25.34 seconds.
The previous record was 25.72 seconds.
He also broke his own record in the Mens Open 50 metre breastroke with a new time of 29.25 seconds with the previous time of 29.59 seconds.
New Zealand currently leads the medal tally with 12 gold, 7 silver and 9 bronze.
Australia is second with 9 gold, 10 silver and 4 bronze while Cook Islands is third with 1 gold.
Fiji is seventh on the medal tally with 1 silver and 1 bronze.
The Oceania Swimming Championships finals will begin at 6.30 this evening.
