The Army rugby team has won the 2019 ANZ Ratu Sukuna Bowl rugby competition after defeating Police 20-17 at the ANZ Stadium in Suva this afternoon.

Army was off to a good start, putting pressure on the defending champions making them commit a lot of errors in the first half.

The first points of the match was from a penalty conversion from Army fullback Jeke Suguturaga, followed by two tries from Vesi Rarawa and Levani Kurumudu.

Army led Police 17-3 in the first half.

Police started off the second half strong scoring two tries through Sireli Kaloucava and Ratu Inoke Ravuiwasa to close the gap 20-17.

Army extended their lead from the boot of first-five eighth, Jone Manu.

Both teams got a yellow card each through Jone Navori of Police and Vesi Rarawa of Army.
