New Parramatta Eels prop Kane Evans says last Sunday afternoon's 54‑0 loss to the Manly Sea Eagles was the toughest loss of his NRL career.

Promoted to the starting side after the Eels squandered a 14‑0 lead against the Penrith Panthers last week, Evans and his teammates were powerless to stop a relentless Manly team.

Evans' 36 minutes on field netted just six runs for 36 metres as his side barely touched the ball and instead the towering Fijian was forced to make virtually a tackle per minute in his time on ground for an energy‑sapping 35 tackles.

The Eels will take on the Sharks at 8.35pm Saturday.

In other NRL matches this week, the Storm will take on the Cowboys 9.05pm Thursday.

On Friday, the Bulldogs will take on the Panthers at 7pm and the West Tigers face the Broncos.

On Saturday, the Raiders meet the Warriors at 4pm, the Rabbitohs will face the Sea Eagles 6.30pm while the Eels take on the Sharks at 8.35pm.

On Sunday, the Titans will take on the Dragons at 5.10pm and the Roosters will meet the Knights at 7.30pm.
