The Lautoka soccer team is just a step away from creating history by becoming the first Fijian club to win the OFC Champions League and cashing approximately one million Fijian dollars and also qualifying for the FIFA Club World Cup.

The opportunity at hand is immense and a win in the two legged final will mean Lautoka players will get a chance to play at the World Stage in the FIFA Club World Cup.

The money is given for preparation for the FIFA Club World Cup.

If Lautoka wins, their players will get the opportunity to rub shoulders against multi-million dollar players and may even face the winner of the Liverpool and Real Madrid UEFA Champions League final.

Meanwhile, Lautoka has travelled to New Zealand for the OFC Champions League final without key midfielder, Zibraaz Sahib.

The Fiji Football Association is still trying to get the visa for Sahib from the New Zealand High Commission and will fly Sahib across to Wellington as late as this Friday if his visa is approved.

According to Fiji FA, it is understood that Sahib may have violated his visa conditions in New Zealand around five years ago however Yusuf says they are hopeful their top midfielder will be allowed to enter New Zealand this week.

The first leg of the OFC Champions League final between Lautoka and Team Wellington will kick off at 2pm Sunday in Wellington.

The second leg will be played at 3pm next Sunday at Churchill Park and you can catch the live commentary on our sister station, Radio Sargam.
