The Bayleys Fiji Coral Coast 7s will again host one of the icons of the sevens game as one of the special guests of the tournament.
Tournament Director Nick Jordan said Karl Te Nana will be the chief guest at the opening ceremony and he will also unveil his commemorative plaque in Sigatoka Town on Wednesday.
Jordan said Te Nana’s presence will be a big draw card for the tournament.
Te Nana is the eighth highest try scorer in Rugby Sevens history, having scored 113 tries for New Zealand.
The 39-year-old arrived in the country yesterday with his family.
Also arriving yesterday was Rasta Rashivenge who will be officiating at the three day tournament.
The Bayleys Fiji Coral Coast 7s kicks off at Lawaqa Park this Thursday at 8.30am with Gecko’s Lomaiviti taking on Redrock in the first pool match.
