All Blacks centre Richard Kahui has confirmed that he will exit the Chiefs at the end of this year’s Super Rugby season in order to take up a contract in Japan.

The 27-year-old has been plagued by a shoulder injury.

Following the Super Rugby campaign for the champions, Kahui will join the club side Toshiba.

Kahui played a key role for the All Blacks in their 2011 World Cup triumph, regularly starting for Graham Henry’s victorious side on the left wing.

The Chiefs first super rugby match is against the Highlanders next Friday.

Meanwhile, the Super Rugby season kicks off tomorrow at 8.40pm with the Force taking on the Rebels.
