Natabua High School’s Ulaiyata Batinisavu showed his dominance at the Lautoka Zone today by being the most outstanding male athlete, winning three gold medals and breaking two records in the 400 metres and 4 x 4 relay.
He also claimed a gold in the 200 metres senior boys final.
Sereseini Cesoka was awarded most outstanding female athlete after winning 3 gold medals and breaking two records.
She had a gold in the senior girls long jump, triple jump and 4 x 1 relay.
Cesoka broke the record for the triple jump and 4 x 1 relay.
Jasper won the girls division with 45 gold, 21 silver and 9 bronze, Natabua finished second with 8 gold, 11 silver and 9 bronze while third was Yasawa with 1 gold, 6 silver and 5 bronze.
In the boys division Natabua came out on top with 41 gold, 16 silver and 8 bronze, St Thomas High School finished second with 2 gold, 1 silver, 11 bronze while Ba Provincial Free Bird Institute finished third with 2 gold, 7 silver and 4 bronze.
A total of 32 records were broken at the Lautoka Zone today with 18 in the girls and 14 in the boys division.
