Fiji Airways Fijian Drua coach, Senirusi Seruvakula says that it will take time and exposure for players to experience the importance of sticking to the game structure and being able to execute consistently at a high level on the field.
Seruvakula says with 17 new players in the squad he expects the combinations to strengthen every week.
He says the National Rugby Championship is a step up from Skipper Cup and the new players are getting to understand their game patterns and the toughness of the competition.
He adds the senior players are stepping up to take charge putting in extra effort off the field to make sure the new players understand their game style so they can keep improving.
Seruvakula also confirmed that he will be making some changes to the squad who will travel to Wollongong, so competition for a spot is high for players.
"Senior players will have a vital role to play in the team" says Fiji Airways Fijian Drua Coach Senirusi Seruvakula. Don't forget to catch them live on 21st of September against Sydney Rays at Churchill Park in Lautoka. #OurIslandBoys #SailWithPride pic.twitter.com/D7CnczyKtb
