Inexperienced fullbacks for Flying Fijians

Inexperienced fullbacks for Flying Fijians

The last line of defence in the Flying Fijians team will be taken up by the most inexperienced players in the current squad.

Current fullbacks, Iliesa Keresoni and Kini Murimurivalu have not played more than 5 Tests in the Fiji jumper.

Keresoni was exposed when Fiji lost to the All Blacks where they scored two easy tries kicking the ball behind the Fiji defenders and he was missing at the back.

For Murimurivalu, he failed to deliver in his first Test against Tonga and was replaced in the second half.

During the 2007 World Cup, Kameli Ratuvou and Norman Ligairi shared the responsibility at fullback but both of them are unavailable for this tournament.

Fiji will take on Tonga on Saturday in the opening Test series at 3.30pm and you can catch the live commentary on our sister station, Viti FM.
