Hurricanes rugby coach, Mark Hammett is happy with how his squad is shaping up, claiming their attack can defeat anyone in the Super rugby.

The Hurricanes pre-season matches have ended with a win over the Blues but losses against the Rebels and the Crusaders.

Now the Wellington franchise will travel to South Africa to face up against the Sharks in their opening match of the season.

The likes of Beauden Barrett, Conrad Smith, Cory Jane and Julian Savea are part of the squad.

Hurricanes will take on the Sharks at 3.05am this Sunday.

Meanwhile the Chiefs, who are chasing their third title in a row, open their campaign against the Crusaders in Christchurch at 6.35pm this Friday.

On Saturday, the Blues will take on the Highlanders at 6.35pm while the Brumbies will play the Reds at 8.40pm.
