Hobbs in serious condition

The former New Zealand Rugby Union chairman Jock Hobbs is in a serious condition in Wellington hospital.

Hobbs a former All Black captain, has been battling leukemia for the last couple of years.

NZRU Chief Executive Steve Tew said all their thoughts are with Jock and his family.

His son Michael, who plays for the Blues, has flown back from South Africa.
