It will be a historic moment for Fiji Football when the Men’s soccer team play their first ever football match in the Olympics on Friday against the Korea Republic.
Fiji FA President Rajesh Patel told the players that representing Fiji is a lifetime opportunity.
Patel says the players should savor the moment, do their best and keep the country flag flying high.
He hopes the team can bring home a surprise.
Meanwhile, Kolinio Sivoki and Sakaraia Naisua who were dropped from the team for disciplinary reasons are yet to appear before the Fiji FA disciplinary committee.
Patel says they will know their fate before the INKK Mobile BOG and they are still suspended from all levels of soccer.
Team Fiji men’s soccer team play their first game against the Korea Republic on Friday at 11am, they then face Mexico on August 8 at 4am and their final game is against Germany on August 11th at 7am.
The official opening ceremony for the Rio games will be this Saturday at 11am.
