24‑year‑old Winston Hill is hoping to make the 69kg category Commonwealth Games boxing competition gold medal fight as he takes on Northern Ireland's Aidan Walsh in the semi final at 10.02 tonight.
Speaking from the Gold Coast, Hill told Fijivillage that it was not a walk in the park when he beat Stephen Newns of Scotland in the quarter final.
Hill says he is ready for tonight.
Meanwhile Fiji Men's National 7s coach Gareth Baber has confirmed that captain Jerry Tuwai has been cleared to lead the team at this weekend's Commonwealth Games 7s.
Baber has also confirmed that Waisea Nacuqu will be joining the team as cover for any injury.
Tuwai missed a training session on Tuesday because he was down with a flu.
Fiji will play Sri Lanka at 1.21pm tomorrow in their first game, they will then meet Uganda at 7.53pm tomorrow in their second pool match before facing Wales at 11.33pm in their last pool game.
There will be no quarterfinals as the top four teams will go straight to the semi‑finals at 1.43pm Sunday and the Commonwealth 7s final will kick off at 5.04pm Sunday.
