Highlanders wing, Sio Tomkinson has been suspended for three weeks by Sanzaar after being charged with a dangerous tackle in his side's dramatic 23-22 win over the Brumbies last Saturday.
Tomkinson was only yellow-carded by Australian referee Nic Berry for a 44th-minute hit on Brumbies fullback Tom Banks.
In a statement released by Sanzaar stated that “having conducted a detailed review of all the available evidence, including all camera angles and additional evidence, the Foul Play Review Committee deemed the tackle illegal.
Sanzaar says Tomkinson will be available to play for the Highlanders when they travel to Argentina to face the Jaguares on the 15th of March.
Tomkinson's ban has immediately ruled him out of Friday night's Kiwi derby between the Crusaders and the Highlanders at 6.05pm.
