The revitalised Highlanders are not kidding themselves about the size of the challenge as they prepare to take on the Crusaders in Christchurch on Friday, but the manner of the Chiefs' victory over the Super Rugby champions has not gone unnoticed.
The Chiefs' consistent physicality helped them topple the Crusaders in Hamilton in round two, when the Crusaders were uncharacteristically messy with some of their skills and lost a bit of attacking shape without No 10 Richie Mo'unga.
Forwards coach Clarke Dermody says Crusaders are a team you have to keep under pressure for 80 minutes.
He says he thinks the Chiefs have shown the blueprint there as they did not give them much room.
The Crusaders play the Highlanders at 6.05pm.
