Heartbreak for Fiji

Heartbreak for Fiji
One of the top medal prospects at this year's Olympics, Glen Kable is highly likely to miss out in the Shooting competition.

Kable currently competing in the Men's Trap qualification shot 24 in the opening round and then shot 21 in the second round. He at the moment lies in 29th place with a total score of 45 and is currently shooting in the third round.

Kable must finish in top six to qualify for the medal playoffs which is now highly unlikely to happen although two more rounds of competition will be held tomorrow in Beijing.

Meanwhile, Czech Republic's Katerina Emmons won the first Gold medal of the 2008 Olympics in the Women's 10m Air Rifle competition. The Silver medal went to Russia while Croatia took the bronze medal.

In the Women’s Basketball competition which is also underway in Beijing, Australia registered their first win in the preliminary round beating Belarus 83-64.

Olympic Games will continue tomorrow and will end on 24th August.
