World Rugby Sevens Series title sponsor, HSBC has released a new documentary that will tell the extraordinary story of the Vodafone Fiji 7s team.
Fiji won the country’s first medal of any colour with victory in Rio and is currently ranked the best in the world despite a population of 800,000.
Director of the film Bruce Southwick says that being on tour with the Fiji squad has been a huge privilege.
He says with the team having made history, it could not be more perfect timing for them to collectively brew the dream story.
Southwick adds that he is incredibly proud to be involved.
Former Fiji 7s coach Ben Ryan says the story is unique and great as it tells a story just like the fast bowlers from the West Indies or sprinters from Jamaica that go on to dominate the world.
Ryan says when they showed the first edit of the film to the team in the training camp in Chile before flying to Brazil, it brought genuine tears to their eyes and it helped to inspire their incredible performance in Rio.
Meanwhile, Fiji will play their first game in the Dubai 7s against Canada at 7.52pm tomorrow and face Wales at 11.47pm.
They will play their final pool match against Argentina at 4.48am Saturday.
The Cup quarters start at 8pm Saturday, the Cup semis start at 1.41am Sunday while the Final kicks off at 4.33am Sunday.
