Gurjit Singh resigns as coach of Suva Soccer

Suva soccer coach Gurjit Singh has resigned from his post and will be leaving for USA next Monday.

Singh told Fijivillage that he needs a break after coaching for more than 30 years.

Singh who is originally from Mataniqara, Ba will be best remembered for Suva’s historic Fiji FACT and IDC wins in 2012 at Govind Park.

In both finals, Suva defeated Ba in their home ground where the Capital City side won Fiji Fact after 17 years and IDC after a long 29 years.

He has also guided teams like Nadi, Labasa, Navua, Lautoka Tailevu Naitasiri, Nasinu and Nadroga and all these teams have won titles under Singh’s guidance.
