Nouzab Fareed the Group CEO of Fijian Holdings limited has been elected as the new President for the Fiji Chess Federation.
His appointment came after the Fiji Chess Federation hold their Annual General Meeting earlier this week.
Komal Singh has been elected as the new Deputy President, Taione Sikivou and John Caldeira were elected into Vice Presidents, Hilda Vukikomoala as General Secretary while Abilash Ram was elected as Treasurer.
The executive members include Reshma Chand, Anil Senevirathne, Goru Arvind, Fred Sukhu and Neelam Kumar.
The 2019 Chess Calendar will be announced in due course to resume the sport locally and recruit new talent.
The Fiji Chess Federation says that their aim is to participate in upcoming international events like the Oceania Zonal in New Zealand from January.
