Goodman Fielder gives $8,000 sponsorship to Special Olympics Fiji

Goodman Fielder today gave an $8,000 sponsorship towards the 2016 National Games for Special and Unified Athletes which is an initiative of Special Olympics Fiji.

General Manager of Goodman Fielder Chris Zaayman says they are proud to be sponsoring the event for the second time.

Zaayman says this sporting event helps in unifying and promoting the acceptance and inclusion of all people.

Meanwhile Chairperson of Special Olympics Fiji, Bishwa Sidal says during the two day event, athletes with and without special needs will play together to promote unity and inclusion of everyone.

Sidal says 24 Special and Inclusive Schools and Adult institutions have already confirmed their participation.

He adds that they expect around 800 athletes at the event with an additional 100 volunteers.

The 2016 National Games for Special and Unified Athletes will begin this Thursday and end on Friday.
