Wellington Phoenix star Roy Krishna is encouraging football scouts to take a closer look at Oceania as he believes there are hidden gems with even more talent than he has playing in the island nations.
The Fijian international was announced last night as the recipient of the prestigious Johnny Warren Medal, an honour bestowed to the best player in the A‑League.
It was one of two major awards won by the 31‑year‑old striker, who also took out the Golden Boot having scored a career‑best 18 goals during the regular season before adding another in Wellington's elimination final defeat to Melbourne Victory.
