The Fiji Airways Flying Fijians remain in 9th place in the new rankings released by World Rugby despite their loss to Japan in the first round of the World Rugby Pacific Nations Cup.
Fiji had the chance to move up to 8th in the rankings if they had managed to beat Japan by more than 15 points.
Fiji will be aiming to bounce back from their loss against Japan as we aim to win our fifth successive Pacific Nations Cup.
The PNC fixtures will be played in a cross pool format with each team playing 3 games. According to the format, Fiji has games against Japan, Canada and Samoa. The winner of the tournament will be the team who records the maximum number of competition points across the tournament schedule.
Fiji is in pool A with USA and Tonga and is currently in last place with zero points.
USA leads pool A with 5 points.
Japan leads pool B with 5 points which also has Samoa and Canada.
The national side will play Canada at 5.15pm this Saturday at the ANZ Stadium.
