With Fiji and Australia aiming to stick to their traditions of attacking rugby, Flying Fijians coach John McKee believes keeping the same back line combination will help them build their performance.
Fiji fought bravely against England but McKee believes they could realistically have stayed more in touch had they bagged their kickable points with both flyhalf Ben Volavola and giant winger Nemani Nadolo missing kicks.
Fiji missed four penalties in the last 20 minutes where they would have closed their points against England.
McKee admitted that the potential selection of Josh Matavesi at 10 had been the main discussion point during their selection.
He adds that they are yet to decide one who will be responsible for kicking against Australia.
Fiji’s Pool A has been dubbed by many as the group of death, containing not only hosts England and two time winners Australia, but also Wales.
McKee says that the players are sharp ahead of their clash against the Wallabies.
McKee says that Japan’s shock 34-32 victory over South Africa, widely regarded as world rugby’s biggest ever upset, would inspire his team.
Fiji will take on the Wallabies at 3.45am this Thursday at Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Wales.
