Fiji will be represented in 25 sports at the Pacific Games

Fiji will be represented in 25 sports at the Pacific Games in Papua New Guinea.

Some of the sports are Athletics, Rugby 7s, Rugby League Nines, Swimming, Basketball, Netball, Beach Volleyball, Body Building, Cricket, Soccer, Golf, Hockey, Karate and Tennis.

FASANCO this morning released the extended list of athletes taking part in the various sports with the final squad to be cut down next Thursday.

Looking at some of the athletes that have been named in athletics, Banuve Tabakaucoro, Aaron Powell, Batinisavu Uluiyata, Mustafa Fall, Heleina Young, Kelera Singh and Younis Bese.

Basketball includes Esala Banuve, Johnny Seruvatu, Leonard Whippy, Waymann Whippy, Makilita Koyamainavure and Valerie Nainima.

For Beach Volleyball, Aisake Raratabu, Waisale Suka and Sera Speed are part of the team. 

Fiji will not take part in touch rugby, softball and triathlon.

The Pacific Games which will be held from the 4th to the 18th of July.
