The Vodafone Fiji 7s team has thrashed Japan 41-0 in their first pool game of the Las Vegas 7s.
Fiji were leading 19-0 in the first half with tries from Kalione Nasoko, Mesulame Kunavula and Vatemo Ravouvou.
Coach Gareth Baber’s message at half time was simple as he emphasized on ball retention and brutal attacking.
Fiji continued their fine form in the second half with two tries to speedster Joeli Lutumailagi and a try each to Samisoni Viriviri and Sevuloni Mocenacagi.
The national side will now meet Scotland in their second pool match at 3.08pm today while Fiji plays its final pool match against Australia at 9.50am tomorrow.
The Medal quarter finals start at 4.16pm tomorrow, the semis will be held at 9.44am on Monday while the final will kick off at 1pm Monday.
Meanwhile Australia defeated Scotland 28-21 in the second pool match of the Las Vegas 7s.
