The Fiji Basketball men’s team has three more weeks to work on their defense before the Pacific Games next month.
With a few overseas based players joining the team next week, coach Saula Koroi said that they were thankful to be hosting the US Naval Ship Mercy personnel yesterday which provided some game time for the players.
Koroi said that they will be utilizing all their resources in trying to get the players to know each other well before their trip to Papua New Guinea.
The players who are expected to be joining the team is Joseph Fox from a university in California, Marques Whippy who is playing in New Zealand, two players from the West and Orisi Naivalurua who came from China.
Meanwhile, the men’s team defeated the US Mercy team 77-52 while the women’s team beat US Mercy 61-27 last night.
The Pacific Games will be held from the 4th to the 18th of next month.
