Olympic gold medalists and reigning World 7s Series champions, Fiji will be looking to replicate their success in the 2019/2020 HSBC 7s Series.
During the Captain’s photo shoot today, Fiji Men’s 7s captain, Paula Dranisinikula stated that they know that this year’s tournament will tougher than last year’s tournament.
Dranisinukula says to remain as the world champion is hard but it will be a good challenge to the players.
He says the players love what they do and they will give their all in making the country proud.
Fiji 7s coach Gareth Baber is expected to name his 13 member team for Dubai 7s today.
Fiji’s first pool match is against Japan at 4.02am this Friday, they will take on Argentina in their second pool match at 10.04pm the same night and they will face France in their last match at 4.02am on Saturday.
The quarterfinals will be held at 8.14pm this Saturday, the semifinals will be at 12am Sunday while the final will be at 4.02am this Sunday.
Barring any upsets, Fiji is likely to meet South Africa, England or Kenya in the quarter-final, they can face South Africa or France in the semi-final and is likely to meet New Zealand or the USA in the final of the Dubai 7s.
