Fiji born All Blacks 7s players Tomasi Cama Junior, Lote Raikabula, Waisake Naholo and David Raikuna could be earning up to 10,000 NZ dollars per month.
This was after the New Zealand Rugby Union increased their sevens base salaries from $25,000 to $45,000, plus $2000 per tournament, to between $70,000 and $120,000 per year.
Speaking to stuff sports All Blacks 7s coach Sir Gordon Tietjens said his main focus is to keep his older players with the likes of Tim Mickelson, DJ Forbes, Tomasi Cama, Lote Raikabula and Sherwin Stowers for the Rio Olympics in 2016.
Tietjens is expected to name his final 12 member squad for the Dubai 7s later this week.
The Dubai 7s kicks off next weekend and the Digicel Fiji 7s team is expected to be named tomorrow.
