A well balanced nine-member team has been selected to be part of the Fiji Women’s Hockey for the Pacific Games.
The team is initially made up of nine core players and five non-travelling players.
The core team includes Lala Ravatu, Catherine Thaggard, Tiara Dutta, Lora Bukalidi, Tailah Ah Yuk, Maxine Browne, Melba Nautu, Tessa Harman and Susana Mudunatagi.
The non-travelling players are Sarote Nakaora, Rebbeca Lemeki, Sereima Bolalailai, Rita Hicks and Maria Tailor.
Fiji Women Hockey Team Coach, Alison Southey said the youngest player is Tiara Dutta who is 16 years old.
She said Dutta was part of the national squad that represented Fiji in the World Series in India in 2013 and the under-19 squad to the Youth Olympics last year.
Southey said only two players in the team were part of the squad that won Gold in the 2007 Pacific Games.
The two players are Catherine Thaggard and Maxine Browne.
The Pacific Games will be held from the 4th to the 18th of July in Papua New Guinea.
