The Fiji Under 20 suffered a 16-0 defeat to Australia in their second game in the Oceania Rugby U20s Championship last night.
The side showed improvement in their performance from their 53-7 thrashing to New Zealand in their first match.
There were plenty of positives to take out of the game as Fiji’s scrum was able to match up well and even exert pressure on the Australians.
Hooker and captain Tevita Veicavuyaki was effective, as was tighthead prop Livai Natave, who anchored the scrum.
With number eight Aminiasi Tiritabua Shaw carrying well and making a nuisance of himself at the breakdown, Fiji were able to hold their own against the Australian pack.
Fiji will now take on Japan on Saturday in their last game.
