The Fiji U21 Netball team went down fighting to the current World Youth Netball Champions, New Zealand 61-34 in their final round robin match in the Digicel/Punjas International Youth Netball Series last night at the Vodafone Arena.
Fiji U21 Coach Vicki Wilson says she is very pleased with the girl’s performance, and that they have shown a great deal of improvement from their last outing.
Fiji came out strong in the beginning of the first quarter to lead New Zealand in the first few minutes of the game.
Fiji fought back through intercepts by Captain Episake Kahatoka who was outstanding in the match.
The Fiji U21 will now play for 3rd ranked against Samoa at 4pm, while New Zealand will face Australia for 1st place at 6.40pm at the Vodafone Arena.
