The Vodafone Fiji Under-20 soccer players today received gift packs from their major sponsors including top of the range phones after they created history by qualifying for next year’s FIFA Under-20 World Cup in New Zealand.
The team was hosted at Vodafone Fiji’s Headquarters in Tamavua this morning.
Fiji FA President, Rajesh Patel said he is going to meet Vodafone Fiji on how much more they will give as bonuses to the players as Fiji FA has already announced on Saturday they will give $50,000.
Patel added that there are plans for the Under-20 team to play overseas matches before the World Cup next year.
Fiji defeated the Solomon Islands 2-1 in their last match of the OFC Under-20 Championship on Saturday night.
The FIFA Under-20 World Cup will be hosted by New Zealand next year.
