The Fiji Under 20 rugby team will leave on Thursday for Romania for the Junior World Rugby tournament with high hopes of securing a place in the Under 20 Rugby Championship.
With new young talent in the 26 member team, Coach Koli Sewabu is optimistic that they have the right mix of players to have a good outing in the competition.
Most of players are already playing provincial rugby and played together for the Under 18 Schoolboys National side.
The World Rugby Under 20 Trophy is contested by 8 men's junior national teams with an under‑20 age requirement.
It is the second level of the World Rugby tournament structure for under‑20 national sides.
The winner of the Junior World Rugby Under 20 trophy will play in next year's Championship, while the last placed team in the Championship will be relegated to the Trophy for the next year.
In the competition, hosts Romania will be joined by Samoa, Africa champions Namibia and Asia champions Hong Kong in Pool A.
Portugal are the top seeds in Pool B and will face South American champions Uruguay, Oceania qualifiers Fiji and Canada.
The team will return to Fiji on 7th of next month.
