The Vodafone Fiji U19 Soccer team have begun the OFC Under-19 Championship on an excellent note after the team defeated Vanuatu 3-1 in their first pool match.
Fiji lead 1-0 at the end of the first half.
Tavua’s Ratu Dau netted the first goal for the Fijian side while other goals were scored by Tito Vodowaqa and Kishan Sami.
A number of players throughout the game were handed yellow cards for indiscipline.
The Fijian team featured players such as Ba’s Kishan Sami, Rewa’s Savenaca Baledrokadroka, Tavua’s Ratu Dau, Lautoka’s Muni Naidu and Labasa’s Iliesa Rakuka.
Fiji will now take on Solomon Islands on Friday this week in their second pool match.
Fiji is pooled with Vanuatu, Solomon Islands and New Caledonia.
