Fiji Pearls names extended training squad

An extended training squad with some very familiar faces has been name by Fiji Pearls coach Vicki Wilson for the Netball World Cup in England in July.

It includes Matila Vocea, Laisani Waqa, Maliana Rusivakula, Unaisi Rauluni, Lydia Panapasa, Elenoa Gukirewa, Nina Cirikisuva, Asilika Sevutia, Alisi Galo, Verenaisi Sawana, Mereani Tuwai, Episake Kahatoka, Ema Mualevu, Merelita Waqanidrola and Kelera Nawai.

The five overseas based players are Alisi Nawele, Adi Bolakoro, Caityn Fisher, Ana Cagi Moi, Tanisha Hunt and Grace Korovatu.

Jacinta Lal as well as senior players Taraima Mitchell, Maria Rusivakula and Matila Waqanidrola have been included in the squad.

Wilson says the Fiji Pearls will travel to Singapore for a test match in April before travelling to Auckland for test matches against the Silver Ferns, Samoa and the New Zealand Men’s Netball team in June.

The Fiji Pearls are in Pool C in the Netball World Cup with Jamaica, South Africa and Trinidad and Tobago.

The Netball World Cup will be held from the 12th to the 21st of July in Liverpool, England.
