The Silver Ferns will return to NZ undefeated after the Oceania Tri Series as they beat the Fiji Pearls 76-34 last night.
Silver Ferns Coach Waimarama Taumaunu said they have a few things to work on but she was happy with the performance of some of the girls.
Despite being dominated in some of the aspects of the game, the Pearls never backed down with Episake Kahatoka and Matila Waqanidrola working tirelessly in defence.
Pearls Coach Kate Carpenter who celebrated her 100th International test match last night said it was a huge improvement from Monday’s match.
In the first quarter the Silver Ferns started well taking a 21-10 lead.
The Pearls then made a change in the second quarter introducing Episake Kahatoka to replace Captain Mere Neiliko Rabuka but it was not enough as the Ferns maintained their lead going into the break with the score at 41-17.
There were a lot of turnovers in the third quarter and with Maria Tutaia replacing Ellen Halpenny in Goal Attack, the New Zealand team continued to lead the score with 26-61.
The final score again - Silver Ferns 76 Fiji Pearls 34.
