The Fiji Airways Flying Fijians have received a major boost towards its 2019 Rugby World Cup campaign in Japan after the Fiji National Sports Commission handed over a $2.546 million cheque to the Fiji Rugby Union.
Commission Chairman, Peter Mazey handed over the cheque to FRU Chief Executive Officer, John O’Connor and Flying Fijians Coach, John McKee.
FRU says they would like to thank the Sports Commission and the Fijian Government for its support towards the Rugby World Cup build up since November last year.
Fiji will face Tonga on the 31st of this month before taking on the Wallabies in their first pool game on the 21st of next month at 4.45pm.
Fiji is pooled with Australia, Wales, Georgia and Uruguay.
The Rugby World Cup will be held from the 20th of next month to the 2nd of November.
