Oceania Volleyball Champions the Fiji White Men’s and Women’s Volleyball teams.

The Fiji Men’s and Women’s Volleyball teams created history last night by winning the 2016 Handy Finance Volleyball Championship.

The Fiji Men’s White team beat New Caledonia three sets to two to clinch their first ever Oceania title.

Fiji Men’s White Assistant coach, Peni Ratumaiyale says this win is dedicated to all the mothers in Fiji and abroad.

It was also an emotional moment for Ratumaiyale as they faced a lot of hardships to prepare for the championship.

Ratumaiyale says they only had three weeks to prepare and the players delivered their best performance in front of their home crowd to beat the defending champions.

Meanwhile, the Fiji Women’s White team also beat New Caledonia 3 sets to 2 in the final.

The win last night means the Fiji teams will now participate in the 2017 Asian Volleyball Championship where they will face some of the World’s best teams which include China, Japan, Korea and Thailand.
