Defending HSBC World 7s Series champion, the Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s Team will need to cut down on their mistakes to qualify to the elimination rounds in the Cape Town 7s this weekend.
Fiji who finished the Dubai 7s last week in 9th position made history by not qualifying to the Cup quarterfinals for the first time in the 21-year history of the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series round in Dubai.
Fiji’s chances of qualifying to the quarter-finals rest on how well they will play in their pool games since they are pooled with South Africa, USA and Japan.
They also received the highest numbers of yellow cards in the Dubai 7s last week reaching a total of six yellow cards in four matches.
Meanwhile, the Fiji Airways Fijiana is pooled with New Zealand, South Africa and Russia in the Cape Town 7s.
The 2019 Cape Town 7s will be held from Saturday to next Monday.
