Fiji Hockey teams begin World League on a high
Leevan Dutta scored 5 goals in this match against Tonga.

The Fiji Men’s Hockey Team has made a winning start at the 2016 Hockey World League Round 1 competition at the National Hockey Centre.

They defeated Tonga 8 goals to 2 in their opening match this morning.

Leevan Dutta was impressive for Fiji as he scored 5 goals in the match.

The Fiji Women’s Hockey team also thrashed Solomon Islands 18‑0 this morning.

Participating teams in the competition are Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands and Tonga.

Samoa has withdrawn from the competition.

This is a qualifying tournament for the 2017 World Cup.

The Fiji Men’s Hockey team is currently playing PNG.
