There are high hopes that the Fiji Hobbie Cat team can cause upsets in the 2009 Air Pacific South Pacific Hobie Championships which gets underway tomorrow at Laucala Bay.
President Graham Southwick who will leads a strong Fiji contingent is looking forward in taking on some of the best in the world during the 6 day sailing competition.
The championship is in its 5th year and has been dominated by overseas winners since 2002 but the Fiji team is out to break their losing streak this year.
Southwick said there main obstacle will be Kurly Collett the current Grand Master World Champion and Aaron Worrall the current Fiji and South Pacific champion who is also a former world champion.
