Fiji Army Bears thrash Australia to win Defence Forces Rugby League World Cup

Fiji Army Bears celebrate after their victory over Australia

The Fiji Army Bears have won the Defence Forces Rugby League World Cup following a convincing 44‑12 victory over favorites Australia last night.

The Fijians’ attack proved too strong as they ran in four unanswered tries in the first half which puts them to a 22-6 lead.

Ilikena Niumataiwalu and Aaron Joshua Vadiga both putting in impressive showings as Fiji ran away with a 44‑12 win at fulltime.

Fiji had earlier beat the United Kingdom 40‑20, they thrashed New Zealand 40‑6 before losing out to Australia in the round robin 38-24.
