The Flying Fijians during training at Albert Park

Fiji Airways Flying Fijians captain Dominiko Waqaniburotu says there is a need to set the tone and platform from the first week of camp and work towards achieving greater rugby results this year.

Waqaniburotu was given the captaincy role by Coach John McKee during the autumn tour test matches last year where Fiji defeated France 21‑14 in November.

He says just like any other team they are focused and ready to represent their country at the Rugby World Cup in Japan but their focus for now is the first match against Maori All Blacks next weekend.

The Flying Fijians captain says the squad is packed with a lot of talent and the players have come into camp with the right mind set.

Waqaniburotu says the coaches have mapped out the plans for them and they will surely want to put up a great show against the Maori All Blacks.

The Flying Fijians begin their campaign against the Maori All Blacks at the ANZ Stadium in Suva next Saturday and you can catch the live commentary of the match on our sister station, Viti FM.
